The Trust has three Trustees and a Management Committee that ensures that it operates efficiently, within set budgets and according to the Trust’s Constitution.
It is situated on 46 hectares in a country environment.
It consists of:
74 self- catering cottages, accommodating up to 170 residents
Bed- sits, accommodating up to 60 people, all meals provided and apartments serviced.
A Frail Care unit, which houses 25 residents, is fully staffed with professional nurses, orderlies and nurse aides.
There are doctors on call, access to the Borradaile Hospital, a resident physiotherapist and a pharmacy
The Trust employs 60 people, being: administration, nursing, maintenance, security, housekeeping and catering.
Being a Welfare Organisation, the Trust has relied traditionally on donations to bridge the gap between revenue and expenditure. Donations have dwindled dramatically of late, due to the economic situation that is prevailing.
As a result of the fluctuations in the number of residents and the reduction of donations, it is struggling to meet overheads daily. We are desperately seeking donors, sponsors or even a benefactor, to assist in keeping this essential institution operating for the benefit of the elderly in Zimbabwe.
